Samay Raina Expresses Regret Over Birthday Joke on Disabilities
Samay Raina issues apology for his insensitive joke on disabilities.
Comedian Samay Raina celebrated his birthday on Sunday with a heartfelt apology regarding a controversial joke about disabilities. This followed harsh criticism over comments made during a charity initiative aimed at supporting a child in need of an expensive medical treatment.
Samay Raina’s Apology for Disability Joke
On the same day, Samay used Instagram to express his regret for the insensitive joke. He felt it was important to address this on his special day.
“Today is my birthday. Instead of celebrating myself, I want to use this day to apologise to people with disabilities,” Samay expressed.
He further stated, “We, Samay Raina, Vipul Goyal, Sonali Thakkar, Nishant Tanwar, Balraj Ghai, deeply regret the pain caused due to our show. We will be more mindful in the future and make efforts to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the community. Your strength is an inspiration to us.”

Samay concluded the note, “With respect and gratitude, Samay, Vipul Goyal, Balraj Ghai, Sonali Thakkar, Nishant Tanwar.”
His controversial remark referred to a charity effort concerning a two-month-old baby requiring a costly injection for a rare disease—specifically targeting Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
Background on the Incident
This incident is not Samay’s first run-in with controversy. Earlier this year, he, along with several influencers, faced scrutiny from the Supreme Court for making fun of individuals with disabilities. They were under fire for their comments regarding SMA and blindness.
Moreover, he previously dealt with legal issues stemming from derogatory remarks made during a YouTube show alongside influencer Ranveer Allahbadia. These comments led to accusations of promoting indecency and engaging in explicit conversations, accessible to a wide audience.
