Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar recently shared insights about his dear friend, the late Satish Shah. In a candid interview, Satish’s decision to undergo a kidney transplant came to light. Sachin revealed that Satish wanted to extend his life to care for his wife, Madhu, who is affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Just hours before his passing, Satish had sent a text to Sachin, reflecting his enduring spirit.

Why Satish Shah Chose to Undergo a Kidney Transplant

Sachin elaborated that Satish had been undergoing dialysis and had previously experienced successful bypass surgery. “Tragically, Madhu is also not well. This year, Satish decided to have a kidney transplant. His aim was to provide the best care for Madhu,” Sachin recalled.

He also shared a poignant moment: his wife, actress Supriya Pilgaonkar, visited Satish at his home just a few days before his demise. “I received a message from him at 12:56 pm today, which shows he was in good spirits. This loss feels profoundly personal for me, and it’s a significant loss for the industry as well,” Sachin expressed.

Reflecting on Satish’s Legacy and Recent Passing

Satish Shah, well-known for his roles in iconic films such as Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and Main Hoon Na, passed away at the age of 74. His death occurred at his residence in Bandra East in the early afternoon. Ramesh Kadatala, his long-time assistant of over 30 years, confirmed the news.

His contributions to Indian cinema and television spanned decades, during which he captivated audiences with his impeccable comic timing, leaving behind a rich legacy in films like Maalamaal and Kal Ho Naa Ho.
