Ibrahim Ali Khan Reflects on Trolling and Career Challenges After Nadaaniyan
The Hype Surrounding Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Film Debut
How do you think Ibrahim Ali Khan can bounce back in his acting career?
Ibrahim Ali Khan recently reflected on the unfortunate reception of his debut film, *Nadaaniyan*. The rom-com featured Khushi Kapoor and was produced by Karan Johar. While expectations were high upon its Netflix release, the film faced harsh criticism, leading to rampant trolling on social media.
In a candid chat, Ibrahim shared his feelings regarding the backlash he faced after *Nadaaniyan* and another film, *Sarzameen*. He expressed disappointment, noting, “Not too long ago, everyone was excited for my debut. After *Nadaaniyan*, the hype has plummeted. I’ve been trolled constantly—it’s quite difficult to deal with.”
Further discussing the reaction to his work, Ibrahim pointed out the issue of online mob mentality. “A lot of trolling felt unwarranted; people joined in simply because they heard others were doing the same. That isn’t fair, but if I deliver a hit in the future, I hope they react passionately again,” he remarked.
Directed by Shauna Gautam, *Nadaaniyan* also starred Mahima Chaudhry and Dia Mirza. Unfortunately, it received a disappointing 12% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Later, Ibrahim appeared in *Sarzameen*, featuring Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran, which premiered on JioHotstar and faced similarly negative reviews.
