This Diwali, movie enthusiasts were thrilled by the release of a new film in the popular Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Thamma, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, marks the fifth addition to this universe. Alongside a mix of vampire romance and humor, standout moments included Varun Dhawan’s cameo as Bhediya and announcements about Aneet Padda in Shakti Shalini. Fans have now uncovered a fascinating connection between Thamma and Stree (2018), the inaugural film in the series. Spoiler alert!
Nora Fatehi in Thamma and Stree
Seven years ago, we were captivated by Stree, a unique horror comedy featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, which balanced scares with laughter. One highlight was Nora Fatehi’s memorable dance number Kamariya. After this performance, she left the scene escorted by her bodyguard. This year, Nora returned to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe with another item song in Thamma, titled Dilbar Ki Aankhon Ka. Fans have been enchanted by Nora’s smooth dance moves, leading many to speculate that she portrayed a vampire character even in Stree.
One Reddit thread went viral, noting, “Nora Fatehi appeared as just an item dancer in Stree, while her role in Thamma presents her as a vampire. So could she have been a vampire in Stree too?” Many fans chimed in, with one recalling how a character referred to her as “Chanderi ki Rani.” Another user expressed hope for deeper exploration of her character in future movies within this cinematic universe, highlighting Nora as one of Bollywood’s top dancers. A final comment noted that this “Chanderi ki Rani” reference could indicate that her character may be revisited in future installments.
