Actor Lee Yi-kyung’s Accuser Claims AI-Made Lewd Texts Were a Joke

A woman has admitted to creating fabricated, sexually explicit text messages that were supposedly from South Korean actor Lee Yi-kyung.

Lee found himself at the center of controversy when alleged screenshots of a lewd text exchange surfaced online on October 20. These messages were said to involve him and unnamed women.

Confession from the Maker of the Rumors

On October 22, the individual, identified only as A and claiming to be from Germany, revealed that the images she shared were generated using AI technology.

She expressed her remorse, stating that she was “truly sorry for spreading malicious rumors about actor Yi-kyung.” A explained that it all began as a joke and she never intended for her posts to gain such traction.

The Emotional Toll of Fabrication

A mentioned that her admiration for Lee initially fueled her writings, but as she continued, she became emotionally enmeshed in her fabricated story.

She reflected, “It started with me simply admiring [Lee] as a fan, but over time I found myself getting emotionally involved. What began as admiration spiraled into emotional over-identification.”

Legal Actions and Repercussions

A acknowledged her responsibility for her actions, stating, “If there is any responsibility I must bear, I will take it. I’m German, so please forgive my clumsy Korean.”

Initially, she denied claims made by Lee’s agency, Sanyoung ENT, that she was being dishonest. Following the initial allegations, the agency announced it would pursue legal action against those spreading falsehoods.

“Uploading [and reposting] such content is also subject to legal action not just against the original creator, so we ask people to take precautions against unnecessary damages,” the agency stated.
