Aneet Padda or Kiara Advani? Clip attached with Thamma finally confirms who will play Shakti Shalini
The announcement of Aneet Padda joining forces with the Stree makers came with a special video, which was attached to the theatrical print of Thamma.
Ever since the film Saiyaara has turned out to be a blockbuster, fans have had their eyes on Aneet Padda’s next move. With the release of Thamma featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, it’s been confirmed that she will star in Maddock Films’ upcoming horror-comedy, Shakti Shalini.
Aneet Padda is rumored to have taken over Kiara Advani’s role in the movie.
Aneet Padda’s next film
Aneet has officially been confirmed as the lead in Shakti Shalini, marking her first venture into the horror-comedy genre. The film’s release date has been shifted to December 24, 2026, instead of the previously planned 2025.
The announcement was made in a special video attached to the theatrical print of Thamma, but the clip later leaked on social media, stirring curiosity among fans.
Post announcement, a still from the film popped up online, showing a mysterious figure in a white lehenga floating in a forest, believed to be Aneet. This image has sparked wild speculation on social media.
One fan tweeted, “Aneet Padda officially enters her era. I’m getting goosebumps,” while another wrote, “#AneetPadda, waiting for December 2026 to see you on the big screen. Welcome to the world of MHCU!”
Comments continued to pour in, with one stating, “Pure goosebumps!” and another expressing the excitement surrounding Aneet Padda’s role in what’s being touted as the first solo female superhero movie in Indian cinema.
Aneet’s journey in the film industry began with her role in Revathi’s slice-of-life drama Salaam Venky, featuring established stars like Kajol. Her role in the web series Big Girls Don’t Cry followed, where she shared the screen with other notable names.
However, it was Saiyaara that truly catapulted her into the limelight. Paired with debutant Ahaan Panday, their chemistry resonated with audiences, leading to the film becoming one of India’s top romantic dramas, grossing approximately ₹569.75 crore worldwide and earning accolades from industry giants like Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar.
