AC/DC Unveils Local Acts Joining Their Australian Tour Lineup
AC/DC has announced the local support acts for their much-anticipated Australian tour.
The iconic rock band’s Power Up tour will make stops in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane throughout November and December. Due to “overwhelming demand,” several new dates have been added to the itinerary.
Amyl and the Sniffers have been confirmed as the special guests for all shows, and now the local supporting acts have been revealed.
Local Support Acts
Melbourne Shows
The Casanovas, an energetic rock trio, will take the stage at both MCG shows in Melbourne, promising to deliver an unforgettable performance.
Sydney and Adelaide
In Sydney, the local band Large Mirage is set to perform at Accor Stadium. Meanwhile, Oscar the Wild will join the lineup at Adelaide’s bp Adelaide Grand Final, adding to the excitement.
Perth and Brisbane
WA favorites Southern River Band will be supporting AC/DC at their Optus Stadium shows, while heavy rockers Headsend will close out the tour at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.
Ticket Sales Surge
The demand for AC/DC’s tour has been unprecedented, marking “the biggest concert on-sale day in Ticketek’s history,” according to Christo Van Egmond, managing director of TEG Van Egmond.
Over 320,000 tickets were snapped up on what is now the largest tour on-sale day recorded in Ticketek’s 40-plus years of operation.
This milestone surpasses the previous record, which was set during AC/DC’s Black Ice tour in 2009. That tour ultimately sold over 650,000 tickets across Australia.
Upcoming Tour Dates
AC/DC last toured Australia in 2015 as part of their Rock or Bust world tour, where they sold more than 520,000 tickets across 11 shows, including cities like Auckland and Wellington.
