Actor Anshuman Jha recently stepped into the director’s role with his debut film Lord Curzon Ki Haveli. He believes the film’s standout feature is its careful casting, which includes actors Arjun Mathur, Rasika Dugal, Paresh Pahuja, and Zoha Rahman. He states, “A well-cast film inevitably connects more with audiences, even if it’s just an average production.”

Anshuman Jha reveals he rejected Half Girlfriend

Anshuman elaborated on his decision to turn down a role alongside Arjun Kapoor in Half Girlfriend. “I was offered a part that Vikrant Massey eventually played. I declined because I felt Vikrant was better suited to a leading role,” he explains. According to Jha, the essence of acting is about finding the right fit, regardless of the role’s size.

He further notes that a suggestion made to him was that the film might not have done as well without a different lead. “I responded that the success of films, like 12th Fail, was not due to the previous star but to the right actor in the right role. Vikrant’s authenticity brought life to 12th Fail, and that made a significant difference,” he asserts.

He also commended Arjun Mathur, expressing concern over the lack of quality roles offered to such a talented actor. “It’s disheartening to see an actor of his skill not getting the recognition he deserves,” Jha comments. He urges for honest reflections on the current cinematic landscape, acknowledging the importance of supporting films that deliver quality storytelling.
