Roopa Ganguly Remembers Pankaj Dheer
According to reports, Pankaj Dheer passed away at 68 after battling cancer. Roopa expressed her shock, stating she was unaware of his declining health. “I communicated with him via text about a year ago, but he never mentioned his illness,” she said, reminiscing about their years of sporadic communication.
Thoughts on Pankaj’s Handsomeness
Recalling their time on the sets of Mahabharat, Roopa said, “Pankaj Dheer was the most handsome man on the set after Nitish Bharadwaj. I used to text him calling him ‘my most handsome friend.’ He was well aware of the admiration for his looks. However, he was a gentleman—reserved and soft-spoken, unlike the more playful members of the cast,” she remarked.

Pankaj Dheer was notably recognized for his roles in Mahabharat and other series like Chandrakanta. He was reported to have passed away early in the morning. Producer Ashoke Pandit noted that Pankaj had spent time in and out of the hospital during his illness.
