Jam Hsiao Debuts Music Video in Singapore, Shares Post-Marriage Joy
Taiwanese artist Jam Hsiao is making his much-anticipated return to Singapore on October 25 for his Wild/Mild concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Since his last full-length show in 2018, many exciting developments have unfolded for this superstar.
In 2023, he captured attention online when he announced his engagement to longtime manager, Summer Lin. Soon after, the couple celebrated their marriage with a banquet at the Taipei Marriott Hotel.
Last month, Jam signed with Sony Music Entertainment, a move aimed at expanding the reach of Mandopop globally.
With so much happening in his life, we had the chance to speak with the Marry Me singer about how he’s adjusting to these changes and what fans can look forward to at his concert.
You’ve performed in Singapore many times. What’s your most memorable moment here?
Every visit to Singapore brings me immense joy. I appreciate the lush greenery, the gleaming cars, and the vast variety of delicious cuisine.
A special memory from years ago is riding the Extreme Swing at Clarke Quay with my backing singer and hairstylist. Despite my fear of heights, it was a truly unforgettable experience.
How do Singaporean audiences differ from those in other locations you’ve performed?
I’ve often heard that the audience in Singapore is calm, but they surprise me with their enthusiasm at every performance. It’s something I genuinely look forward to.
Which songs resonate most with Singaporean fans?
- How To Say I Don’t Love You
- Can Only Miss You
- Princess
- Afei’s Little Butterfly
It’s wonderful to hear their voices harmonizing with my music.
Besides the concert, do you have other plans during your time in Singapore?
Absolutely! I plan to indulge in some amazing food.
What’s your favorite dish from Singapore?
I can’t get enough of black pepper crab and bak kut teh—both are must-tries!

You’ve recently joined Sony Music Entertainment. Should fans expect new music soon?
Since last year, I’ve been touring extensively. Interestingly, a new single will be released on October 17, featuring a music video filmed right here in Singapore.
I’m also preparing for my new album and will be releasing additional singles as well. Singapore will be one of the stops on my tour on October 25.
What makes the Wild/Mild world tour unique compared to your past concerts?
This tour is particularly special to me. I’ll be showcasing performances that I’ve wanted to present, along with segments that fans can look forward to. Just come and enjoy!

How do you choose your concert setlist?
Picking songs for the concert can be challenging. I need to balance what different stages of my audience want to hear while ensuring a smooth flow throughout the show.
Unfortunately, some songs always have to get left out, which can be disappointing for the audience.
As an experienced artist, how has your performance preparation evolved over the years?
Since I began my career, I rarely planned for breaks. But after getting married, I have adjusted my pace to spend more time focusing on myself and family.
I also try to prioritize rest for my voice and body between performances.

How has being married changed your life as an artist?
My commitment to performing remains unchanged before and after marriage, but I now feel a greater sense of relaxation and happiness. I cherish each moment even more.
Reflecting on your journey since One Million Star, what advice would you give your younger self?
All experiences serve as essential growth fuel.
What message do you have for your loyal Singaporean fans?
From my beginnings on One Million Star to now, my passion for music has only intensified, through both triumphs and challenges.
I will continue to strive for growth and remain healthy, honoring the talents and responsibilities entrusted to me. Thank you for your unwavering support.
