Director Milap Zaveri Teases Sequel Plans for Deewaniyat
The film is slated for a Diwali 2025 release.
Considering all the exciting developments around the sequel to Deewaniyat, how do you think audiences will react to the first installment?
Director Milap Zaveri is preparing for the release of his new film, *Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat*, which is set for October 21. This movie features Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa. It’s a tragic love story filled with unexpected twists, and Milap, known for his past franchises, hints that a sequel could be in the works—not just for *Masti 4*, but also potentially for *Deewaniyat*.
In a recent interview, Milap expressed his intention to create a sequel. He stated, “There’s always a scope for a sequel in this country, especially in Hindi films. I have surely planned one but I am curious to see the audience reaction to the first part. Why wouldn’t someone make a sequel, considering my current climax demands it? I do have some thoughts.”
Harshvardhan Rane, who gained prominence with the re-release of his film *Sanam Teri Kasam*, has cultivated a dedicated fanbase. Milap acknowledges that Harsh’s rising stardom will significantly influence the film’s success. “I must credit Harsh for his popularity. After *Sanam Teri Kasam* re-released and performed well, I reached out with my script. Now it’s up to my film to meet his audience’s expectations,” the director shared.
Milap’s previous film, *Saiyaara*, performed exceptionally well at the box office, becoming a fan favorite. Although *Deewaniyat* shares thematic elements with *Saiyaara*, Milap insists its development was independent. “I started shooting my film long before *Saiyaara* was released. It’s purely coincidental,” he explained.
