Aryan Khan discusses creative decisions
The Ba***ds of Bollywood was jointly created by Aryan and his co-writers, Manav Chauhan and Bilal Siddiqui. The series cleverly satirizes the Hindi film industry. In his interview, Aryan disclosed, “We received numerous notes indicating some scenes were too controversial. However, I decided to hold my ground. If certain aspects don’t resonate with you, that’s okay; the series isn’t exclusively for you. Others might appreciate it.”
A focus on respect and humor
During the same discussion, Aryan emphasized the motivation behind their humor, aiming to poke fun at the industry while remaining respectful. He stated, “Our ambition was to be self-deprecating without crossing the line into disrespect. Striking that balance was crucial, given our connection to the industry. The essence of comedy lies in being able to laugh at oneself and spread good vibes.”
About The Ba***ds of Bollywood
Currently, The Ba***ds of Bollywood is surrounded by controversy following a defamation lawsuit against Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment from former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede. The lawsuit claims that the series defames him. Accordingly, the Delhi High Court has issued summons to the show’s creators.
The Ba***ds of Bollywood features a talented cast, including Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, and Manoj Pahwa, along with guest appearances from prominent Bollywood figures like Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan.
