Al Jardine of The Beach Boys Plans Australia Tour for 2026

Al Jardine of The Beach Boys Plans Australia Tour for 2026

Al Jardine, a founding member of the Beach Boys, has rescheduled his Australian tour with the Pet Sounds Band to 2026, unveiling a new set of dates.

The tour, initially planned for October and November 2025, aims to celebrate some of the Beach Boys’ iconic hits like “California Girls,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Surfin’ USA,” and “Good Vibrations.” In addition, fans can expect to hear some lesser-known gems from the group’s albums from the 1970s.

Now set for June 2026, the reconfigured tour will feature performances in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Originally, a show was planned for Hobart at the West Point Casino, but it has not been included in the updated itinerary.

“Al Jardine’s Australian tour has been rescheduled to June 2026 – previously purchased tickets will be automatically honored for the new dates in your city,” the promoter’s announcement states.

Joining Jardine will be an 11-piece band, comprised of musicians who accompanied the late Brian Wilson on tour. Notably, Jardine’s son Matt will also perform, garnering acclaim for his impressive, Wilson-like vocal style. This tour serves as a tribute to Jardine’s late bandmate, highlighting his legacy after Wilson’s passing earlier this year.

After moving to Hawthorne, California, in the mid-1950s, Jardine collaborated with fellow musicians Brian, Carl, Dennis Wilson, and Mike Love to form the Beach Boys in 1961. He contributed as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, lending his voice to chart-toppers like “Help Me, Rhonda” and “Cottonfields,” alongside album tracks such as “I Know There’s an Answer” and “Peggy Sue.” In recognition of his contributions, Jardine was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2001.

In 2010, he released his first studio album, A Postcard from California, which Universal Music re-released globally in 2022. His recent EP, Islands in the Sun, features guest artists like Bruce Johnston, Neil Young, and Flea.
