Gorillaz have teamed up with Argentine rapper Trueno and the late D12 member Proof for their new track, “The Manifesto.” This single is part of their forthcoming album, The Mountain.

The song delves into themes of life and the afterlife, with Proof delivering poignant lines: “You aren’t ready for death/Until I showed up, hold breath/Until you blow the on one set.”

Russel Hobbs of Gorillaz described the piece as a “musical meditation infused with light,” emphasizing it as a journey for the soul.

Proof, who tragically lost his life in 2006, isn’t the only familiar face featured on The Mountain. The album also honors other artists like Tony Allen, Mark E. Smith, Dave Jolicoeur, Bobby Womack, and Dennis Hopper. These artists collaborated with the band before their passes; Proof had previously appeared on the Gorillaz single “911” in 2001.

As noted by Gorillaz, The Mountain acts as a “playlist for a party on the border between this world and whatever happens next.” The album features a diverse lineup, including contemporary talents like Black Thought, IDLES, Yasiin Bey, and many more, showcasing the thrill of existence.

In addition to his appearance in “The Manifesto,” Trueno will open select dates of Gorillaz’ 2026 European Tour. Fans can look forward to the 15-track album, set to release on March 20, 2026.
