Rishab Shetty’s Reflections

In his remarks about the crowd dynamics at the rally, Rishab Shetty stated, “Fan enthusiasm can sometimes lead to uncontrolled situations. It’s really tragic that around 40 people lost their lives.”

He went on to express his belief that no single individual should bear the blame for this disaster, describing it as a ‘collective mistake’ involving many factors. “This isn’t about blaming one person. Accidents occur due to a mix of circumstances, and while we should take precautions, crowd control is a complex matter,” he articulated.

Details of the Rally Incident

On September 27, during a campaign for the 2026 elections, Vijay attracted a crowd of approximately 30,000, far surpassing the venue’s capacity of 10,000. The overwhelming attendance resulted in the deadly stampede, prompting Vijay to announce financial assistance of ₹20 lakh to the families of the deceased and ₹2 lakh for the injured. He also reached out to the affected families through video calls.
