Anshula Kapoor reflects on her engagement ceremony, honoring her roots and incorporating her late mother’s words into her attire.

Reflecting on the proposal that took place in New York earlier this year, Anshula stated, “The proposal was a whirlwind affair on an incredibly hot summer day in New York. It was truly special for both of us.”
Discussing the intimate ceremony at home, she explained, “Rohan and I envisioned our gor dhana as a small celebration surrounded by family. It was important for it to feel cozy and warm, which is exactly what we achieved. There was no theme, but a beautiful blend of our favorite things, people, and memories, intertwined with elements of nostalgia and tradition.”
She added, “Speaking with my dad and siblings about taking the next step, my dad was overjoyed. His only wish was for me to get married at home. I wanted our first ceremony to reflect that wish, and I am grateful that Rohan and his family embraced it fully.”
Anshula expressed the significance of her attire, stating, “Rohan is deeply connected to his roots, and I wanted to honor that through my lehenga, which featured traditional Bandhini, Kutch embroidery, and mirror work. From my first discussion with Arpita Mehta, I knew I wanted a purple lehenga. Seeing Rohan’s reaction was everything to me. Since the day he proposed, I have been missing my mom even more. Her absence has hit hard, so I had her words, ‘Rab Raakha’, embroidered on the back of my outfit. She was my biggest supporter, and I wanted to feel her presence as I start this new chapter.”
Rohan, on his choice, shared, “I only knew I wanted to wear navy blue. We consulted with Kunal (Rawal) and allowed him complete freedom to create something that would suit me. I’m glad I trusted his vision.”
What are your thoughts on Anshula’s heartfelt tribute to her late mother during such a significant moment in her life?
