The Smashing Pumpkins Cancel First Tour in India Due to Logistics Issues

The Smashing Pumpkins were set to perform in Bengaluru on October 11, followed by a show in Mumbai on October 12.
The iconic Chicago band, The Smashing Pumpkins, led by Billy Corgan, was poised to make their debut performance in India this month. Unfortunately, they have announced the cancellation of their shows, citing unforeseen logistical difficulties and other challenges beyond their control.
The Smashing Pumpkins cancel India tour
As part of their Rock Invasion 2025 Asia Tour, the band was scheduled to play at Terraform Arena in Bengaluru on October 11, 2025, and Jio World Garden in Mumbai on October 12, 2025.
On Saturday, they took to Facebook to announce the unfortunate news about their upcoming performances in India. They expressed that they would not be making it to the country this time.
“Due to unexpected logistical challenges and conditions outside our control, we have to cancel our two upcoming shows in Bangalore and Mumbai,” the band shared on their Facebook page.
They emphasized their commitment to quality, explaining that they could not meet the standards expected by themselves and their dedicated fans. “We cannot perform these shows up to the standards that we and our fans expect,” the statement further elaborated.

Details on the planned performances
The founding members Corgan, Iha, and Chamberlain were set to perform alongside live tour members Jack Bates (bass), Kiki Wong (guitar), and multi-instrumentalist Katie Cole, covering a three-decade spanning setlist.
As a defining band of the ’90s grunge movement, The Smashing Pumpkins have had a significant influence on alternative rock artists that followed. They are known for timeless classics like “Tonight, Tonight“, “Bullet With Butterfly Wings“, “Today“, and “1979“. Recent hits also include “Sighommi” and “Beguiled“. The tour was organized in collaboration with EVA Live, which previously hosted Canadian rock legend Bryan Adams in India.
The Rock Invasion 2025 Asia Tour kicked off in Japan in September. After stops in Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Busan, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi, this marks the band’s first tour in Asia in over a decade—12 years since their last visit to Japan, 15 years since South Korea, and nearly 30 years since Thailand.
If you’re a fan of The Smashing Pumpkins, how do you feel about the cancellation of their tour?
