Cameron Winter Expands 2026 Tour with New Sydney Concert Date

Cameron Winter has revealed an exciting headline concert at the iconic Sydney Opera House scheduled for early next year.
The 22-year-old artist, who is also the lead vocalist of the Brooklyn-based art-rock band Geese, will showcase tracks from his highly praised solo debut album, Heavy Metal, on Monday, February 16th, 2026.
A gifted singer-songwriter, Winter’s Heavy Metal has been referred to as a “hidden gem” and a “modern classic.” It has garnered acclaim for its deep emotional resonance and imaginative storytelling.
Written during travels in unconventional settings (think abandoned basements, taxi rides, and late-night public spots), the album captures the tumultuous essence of life on the road, intertwined with Winter’s existential reflections, humor, and exceptional storytelling.
Shifting from the energetic post-punk style of Geese, Winter delivers a more personal and poetic touch. Pitchfork described his work as exhibiting “casual virtuosity and soul-scouring catharsis,” drawing comparisons to luminaries like Bob Dylan, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, and Tom Waits.
The Sydney Opera House performance adds to an already exciting lineup, following his previously announced shows in Melbourne and Auckland. The tour, organized by Handsome Tours and Laneway Presents, features a performance at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Auckland on February 4th, followed by a show at Melbourne’s Forum on February 9th. This marks Winter’s inaugural solo performance in Australia.
Ben Marshall, the head of contemporary music at Sydney Opera House, praised Winter by saying: “At just 22, Cameron Winter burst onto the scene with a multi-layered debut full of beauty in Heavy Metal, known for moving audiences to tears with its tenderness and intensity.”
He added, “Typically performed in churches, his emotionally charged songs will find an ideal setting in the Concert Hall – our own temple of sound.”
Winter’s band, Geese, also recently released a new album through Partisan Records. Produced by Kenny Beats, Getting Killed is a significant departure from their earlier music.
In a glowing review, Pitchfork rated the album 9/10, calling it “one of the best, strangest, and most compelling rock records of the year.”
Tickets for Cameron Winter’s concert at the Sydney Opera House will be available starting at 10 AM on Friday, October 3rd. For more information, visit their website.
