Baker Boy Set to Kick Off Exciting Australian Tour

Baker Boy has just revealed plans for his first Australian headline tour in more than two years, following his standout performance at the AFL Grand Final.

Scheduled for April and May 2026, Baker Boy will perform in cities including Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Coolangatta, Barwon Heads, Melbourne, Darwin, and Alice Springs. Fans can expect a live show filled with his signature energy, compelling storytelling, and a dynamic mix of genres.

Upcoming Album and Tour Highlights

During the tour, Baker Boy will present tracks from his upcoming album, DJANDJAY, which is set to be released on October 10 via Island Records.

This new album masterfully combines ancestral elements with modern global production. It draws from Yolŋu Matha, English, and Burarra languages, creating a vibrant soundscape that incorporates hip-hop, punk, gospel, and electronic influences. The project features collaborations with renowned artists like Briggs, Haiku Hands, Thelma Plum, Emma Donovan, and Kee’ahn.

Danzal Baker, known as Baker Boy, expressed that this 15-track album is his most powerful and personal work to date. It pays homage to his late grandmother and a Yolŋu spiritual figure—a guiding octopus spirit—which heavily influences the album’s themes.

A Journey Through Achievements

This new release follows his debut album Gela, which earned him five ARIA Awards in 2021. By that time, Baker Boy had already been honored as the Young Australian of the Year and had received two of his three National Indigenous Music Awards for Artist of the Year.

The announcement of the tour comes on the heels of his recent performance at the 2025 AFL Grand Final, where he shared the stage with hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg and other Australian favorites like Jessica Mauboy and Tash Sultana.

Additionally, he will be part of the Perth Festival and WOMADelaide 2026, with more appearances to be announced soon.
